Closed Claims Data Use

The Anesthesia Closed Claims Program offers a customized limited analysis to ASA members. A limited analysis is achieved by AQI review of Closed Claims data sets and claim summaries which pertain to the applicant's topic of interest.

Research data requests, which include extracts of Anesthesia Closed Claims data values and/or claim summaries, are not granted at this time.

• Application is completed by the ASA Member
• AQI reviews the application.
  Please note that you may be contacted for further clarifications on your request.
• An initial scientific review is performed by the Chair of the Closed Claims Committee.
• A second/final scientific review is performed by the Closed Claims Committee.
• Once the request is approved, a Limited Data Use Agreement (DUA) will be delivered to the investigator for review and signature.
• Upon the completion of the DUA, the investigator will receive analysis.
