NACOR dashboard lock down

In preparation for 2018 MIPS data submission to CMS, AQI will lock the provider list tool in the NACOR dashboard on Friday, February 22 (close of business). You will be unable to make any changes to the provider list after the dashboard is locked. The provider lists will be unlocked on Monday, April 8, for 2019 MIPS reporting. If you have questions, email askaqi@asahq.org.

Quality reporting consent submissions due February 28

Eligible clinicians (ECs) who are enrolled in 2018 individual quality reporting must return electronic consent forms by Thursday, February 28, 2019 as required by CMS.

All individual quality reporting ECs with a valid email address and who have not submitted a paper form recently received an email with an electronic consent form. If consents are not submitted by February 28, quality data will not be sent to CMS. For questions about consents, email Margaret Bussan.

Improvement Activity Attestation - Date range required in NACOR dashboard

CMS requires all QR and QCDR data submissions for Improvement Activities to include a date range in which ECs performed their activities. This functionality has been added to the NACOR dashboard. Please review instructions on how to enter the date range for which the EC performed the activity. If you have attested to Improvement Activities, you must go to the dashboard and enter the date range. If your practice attested to multiple activities the date range should be the start date of the first activity and the end date of the last activity.

Quality reporting reconciliation process underway

AQI has started the quality reporting reconciliation process for practices, in which AQI compares the EC types reported on a practice's order form with information contained in a practice's data file.

For each data file submitted, AQI confirms the membership status of each EC to determine if s/he is eligible to receive the ASA member benefit rate for NACOR Quality Reporting. AQI then counts the number of all EC categories (i.e., ASA Member and non-member physician anesthesiologists, ASA Educational Member and non-member care team staff, and ASA Educational Member and non-member Independent CRNAs) and compares them to information provided in the practice's order form.

A practice will receive an invoice, if applicable, for the difference between the numbers provided on the original orders and data submitted to AQI. Payments must be received by March 16, 2019.

Check preliminary 2019 MIPS eligibility

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released the Quality Payment Program (QPP) Participation Status Tool for practices to check on their 2019 eligibility for the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).

Eligible clinicians will enter their National Provider Identifier (NPI) number to see if they need to participate in MIPS during the 2019 performance year. CMS has updated the Participation Status Tool to show 2019 eligibility based on Medicare Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS) data and Medicare Part B claims from October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018.
