It's never too early to send quality data to NACOR
NACOR Quality reporting deadlines for the 2019 performance year are approaching quickly. Practices are encouraged to start sending quality data to AQI before the deadline to allow time for review and to submit corrected files if any errors are identified.
The 2019 data completeness requirements for those reporting MIPS are six measures, including one outcome measure, for 60 percent of the eligible cases over a 12-month period (1/1/19 - 12/31/19). Quality data from January through November 2019 must be submitted by January 31, 2020. The deadline to submit all 2019 data is February 14, 2020.
Quality reporting reconciliation to begin soon
The Anesthesia Quality Institute (AQI) will soon begin reconciling purchased Eligible Clinician (EC) counts against actual data submitted. AQI will begin sending invoices where applicable in January, and all payments must be received by March 16, 2020.
A few reminders regarding reconciliation fees:
- Final Payment: Beginning in January 2020, ASA will reconcile the number of ECs paid for in your initial payment against actual data submitted by the practice and generate a final reconciliation invoice for any additional providers, if applicable. All payments must be received by March 16, 2020. Refunds will not be issued. Example: If a practice ordered NACOR Quality Reporting services for 10 CRNAs but submitted data for 12 CRNAs, ASA will invoice for the 2 additional CRNAs. If ASA does not receive payment for the 2 additional CRNAs by March 16, 2020, the additional CRNAs' data may not be submitted to CMS.
- Submission to CMS: NACOR administrative costs are incurred during the data reporting year for each clinician, MD, CRNA, etc., in the data files that are processed; the final invoice will be based on this head count. Final payment of invoices is required even if data is not submitted to CMS as this is a NACOR administrative fee, not a CMS fee.
