Upcoming registration deadlinesASA members participating in 2020 NACOR Reporting must complete their 2020 ASA membership renewal by the end of business on Thursday, October 1. Members who have not renewed their memberships by October 1 will be charged the NACOR non-member rates for 2020 reporting. The deadline for providers to register for 2020 NACOR Reporting (Basic, Benchmarking or Quality) is Friday, October 30. 2020 Improvement Activities componentGroups attesting to an Improvement Activity in 2020 must have at least 50% of the clinicians (in the group) perform the same activity during any continuous 90-day period, or as specified in the activity description, within the same performance period. The last continuous 90-day period begins on October 2, 2020 and ends December 31, 2020. This year the Quality and Improvement Activity components will be audited prior to data submission to CMS. Please review the 2020 MIPS Data Validation Criteria for the Improvement Activities to validate that your practice is collecting the required documentation. To prepare for the audits, practices should:

New Internal Improvement Measure: Intraoperative Hypotension measure (IIM025)Approved by the Anesthesia Quality Institute (AQI) as an internal improvement measure, the Intraoperative Hypotension (IOH) quality measure supports an increasing desire for objective quality measurement and reporting with no provider documentation burden. ePreop and the Cleveland Clinic are co-stewarding the IOH quality measure to encourage qualified anesthesia providers to maintain an intraoperative mean arterial pressure above 65 mmHg to reduce the risk of adverse outcomes such as acute kidney injury and myocardial injury.
