Anesthesia Groups Can Preview Their 2021 MIPS Final Scores
This week, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) opened the Final Score Preview period for the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). Clinicians and other authorized representatives of groups are now able to view their MIPS final scores for 2021 on the Quality Payment Program (QPP) website. CMS will release final 2023 payment adjustment information (based upon a group’s 2021 performance) in August 2022.
The Final Score Preview will provide anesthesia groups access to performance feedback and the data used to calculate final MIPS scores and payment adjustments. Data includes MIPS performance category-level scores and weights, bonus points, measure-level performance data and scores, and activity-level scores. This data is available to groups and APM entities that participated in traditional MIPS or the APM Performance Pathway (APP).
ASA encourages any members participating in MIPS to review their data and check its accuracy before payment adjustments are calculated.
